Sell my Beretta ????
A friend asked my if I had a small pistol to sell as he is looking for something for his daughter. I thought a moment and couldn't come up with anything I wanted to part with, until I remembered a little 380 Beretta 70-S I hardly ever shoot it.
Althought the gun is handy, reliable and very accurate at close ranges, I have considered getting rid of it over the years because of several combined reasons .... - factory mags are scarce and pricey and after market mags are iffy. - The mag release is not in the std place so mag changes under stress may be slow. - The grips have a thumb rest which makes CCW uncomfortable however I recently found a place to get grips w/o the thumb rest. - 380 is a marginal caliber. - and I now have 9mm & .40 compacts that are just as small. Now the reasons to keep it... I bought it new, so somewhere, there is a 4473 on it to me. (it would be one of my 'turn-in' guns) I have ammo I can shoot up. It has normal wear marks so can be used as a CCW or truck gun without worry. If I were to get another 380 it would be either a PPK or a Colt Mustang Govt Model. but those are pricier and not on my current short list. So my question is... Should I keep it or sell it to my coworker and if so, for how much? (I'm thinking $200) :confused_ma: |
Re: Sell my Beretta ????
If you don't need the money hold onto it. It's value in the future may be worth more than money.

Re: Sell my Beretta ????
I've got my share of firearms that I don't shoot and have thought about selling. Never have done so, I just think guns are like PMs, you never can have too many and they don't cost me anything to keep stored, except a bit of my time for lubrication every now and then. Trading would be a different story, though.

Re: Sell my Beretta ????
You CANT sell your BABEEEEE. Seriously though, I thought about paring down the collection but ended up talking myself out of it. Offer your expertise and suggest they go through the process of a purchase at a gun show or pawn shop.

Re: Sell my Beretta ????
I've sold some of my guns in the past. I regretted selling every single one of them.
Never again. Please don't sell it. Sooner or later, you'll regret it. |
Re: Sell my Beretta ????
Can you think of anyone you can hand it to when the time comes to use it? If so hang onto it.

Re: Sell my Beretta ????
I have more pistols & revolvers left than friends. I've been paring down the collection the past couple years, getting rid of duplicates and odd-balls and things I don't care too much about anymore. I have tried to keep similar calibers, got rid of most 38's but kept the 357's. Selling the 41 mag but keeping the 44's etc. I haven't regretted selling a gun cuz if I want another I just go buy one. If I really like it in the first place, I don't sell it. I don't need the money and I've had it since '77 so, I probably will hold on to it for a while longer, at least until I pick up one of those other 380's I want.
